Storytellers

Storytelling is a tremendous program for children and adults. Christianstorytelling.com is excited to provide a list of storytellers on the bottom half of this page. They are available to speak at churches and other Christian organizations.

We also have a list of trainers who are skilled at teaching storytelling to Christian workers. If you are interested in appearing on our list of storytellers, email us and we'll contact you with more information.

A word of caution

These tellers:

  • come from various denominations
  • differ in their own personal walk with God
  • differ in their ability to tell stories
  • differ in the fees they charge
Storytellers

CSN recommends that each organization carefully question a storyteller before inviting him/her to their function. Here are a few sample questions to ask.

  1. What church do you attend? What denomination is it?
  2. How long have you been telling stories professionally?
  3. Do you have a reference list?
  4. What kind of stories do you tell?
  5. What storytelling programs do you offer?
  6. Can you send us a recording of your storytelling?
  7. How much do you charge for your program?
  8. What equipment do you require for your presentation?

Don "Buck P." Creacy

Buck's Artistic Mission Statement

"I am a weaver of words since 14 years old, telling stories at Slim's Barbershop, while I shined shoes, I made folks laugh."

Buck P. Creacy is a Humorist and a Storyteller and he uses humor to make life better for his audience. It was while he was shining shoes at the barber shop, he realized he could shine more shoes if his customers were laughing.

"I love the connection I enjoy with my audience and their own imaginations."

An "honest to God" humorist, Buck shares both wit and wisdom with children, the Church and the international corporate world alike. He really does "speak the truth in love."

"I love drawing their faces and hearts into the story, my world; our world's oldest art and our Savior's favorite teaching method, storytelling."

Choosing to make his humor "safe" for any audience, Buck sees the world just differently enough to make you laugh out loud. He also realized that by making life better for others; he could make life better for himself. His humor is never mean-spirited though his sense of the funny stuff in our world is very sharp. Whether he is telling, teaching, preaching or coaching other storytellers, Buck P Creacy is Working America's Storyteller.

Loren Miller

Loren Miller As Loren tells Bible stories, the stories come to life while conveying the great truths of scripture. You'll feel the intense heat as King Nebuchadnezzar throws Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the furnace. At the same time, you'll realize God is with you in your own trials. Loren is available as a speaker for Sunday services or special events. He will develop new stories for your particular event.

Loren will also come to your church to present the Bringing Bible Stories to Life workshop. The workshop teaches participants a step-by-step process of how to turn a written Bible passage into a vivid, oral story that comes to life in the minds of the listeners. The workshop is easily customized to meet the needs of your group. The skills learned in this session are valuable for children's Sunday School teachers, adult Sunday School teachers, small group leaders, pastors, youth workers, parents, and grandparents. Be sure to ask about a "Storytelling Sunday."

Loren, his wife Deb, and their four boys live near Bloomington, IL. They are active members of Hopedale Mennonite Church.
